Tips for lasting longer from your very first game.

The first thing to do is choose one corner where your big tiles will live. Pick a spot you're comfortable with, like the bottom-left, and play around that anchor.

Mostly use just two directions (say, down and left), and avoid the corner-breaking direction (up) whenever possible. Doing just this keeps your tiles aligned and lets you last much longer.

Merge small tiles promptly so they don't pile up, keeping cells open. Once you're comfortable, move on to chain and snake patterns.
