How Scoring Works

The logic behind the points you earn with every merge.

In 2048, your score rises by the value of the newly created tile every time you merge. For example, merging two 4s into an 8 adds 8 points.

So the more large values you merge, the more your score jumps. If several pairs merge at once in a single move, your score climbs by that much all at once.

Simply having a new tile appear doesn't add to your score. Merging as often and as big as possible is the path to a high score.
