Endgame Management
Level: Advanced
Once the board fills up late-game, managing empty cells becomes priority one.
Late in the game, once several large tiles have piled up, survival matters more than chasing points. Before every move, ask yourself: "does this open up cells, or close them off?"
Only carry out merges at the end of the chain once they're truly ready, and don't let unrelated merges throw off the alignment of your big tiles. You need to think two or three moves ahead, not just one.
This is a stage where a single mistake can be fatal, so if you're not confident about a move, undo it and look for a safer one.
